Got Questions? We’ve Got Answers…

Find answers to our most frequently asked questions below.
How often do you assess student’s progress?

We assess all our students at the end of every month in formal exam conditions. We test students on the topics they have learnt that month. This continuous assessment will allow you, the tutor and your child to see the progress they are making in our centres.

How do I get feedback about how my child is doing?

You will have access to our unique results platform via our website where you will be able to track the progress of your child’s development. In these detailed reports, you are advised of the result your child got in their assessment, how they performed in each question of the test, their current working level and target level. There is a detailed in-depth report from the tutor giving feedback on your child’s progression.

We also always recommend parents to pop in a few minutes before or at the end of your child’s lesson to get some quick feedback from the tutor to keep up to date!

How many students are there in a class?

We have a strict policy of 4 students per tutor. This means that each student gets the most out of every lesson because our tutors can spend adequate time with each student. We understand that although students should be challenged, they should not feel rushed and there should be plenty of time allowed to make sure they fully understand everything which they are being taught.

How much homework will my child receive?

Tutors aim to set enough homework to keep your child stimulated for each day of the week. Homework ranges in difficulty to build confidence and challenge the students. We provide a very bespoke service, tailored to your needs. All homework will be taken in for marking and issued back to the student the following week.

How is the lesson time utilised?

The hour teaching time is exactly that. Teaching time. We strongly believe in making the most out of each hour with small classes so our tutors can dedicate time and care during lessons. Extensive homework on topics covered will be provided. We pride ourselves on delivering a bespoke tuition service of the highest standard!

How long will it take for me to see results in my child’s progression?

This is a question that truly reflects on each individual student and how much contribution to homework, classwork and revision they are willing to undertake. More or less, all of the students at Boost Education are dedicated and passionate students who want to learn and want to do well and are supported strongly by their families. We believe in pushing students and getting them to meet their true potential and beyond. We regularly push students to work on material one or two academic years ahead and always keep learning in a fun and enjoyable environment in our vibrant and colourful centres. On average, we have noticed that students can move up an academic level in about 6-8 months of joining Boost Education. We are here for your child to progress!

Do you cater for Gifted & Talented students?

Our students are put into classes to suit their levels, this means gifted students will find the work they’re set challenging and could be studying work from a higher key stage then they’re studying at school. Children who need a bit more help will be given the opportunity to work at a pace they’re more comfortable with in order to keep up with the national average. Our tutors have experience with working with gifted and talented children.

Do you cater for Special Education Needs students?

Yes we do. Children who need a bit more help will be given the opportunity to work at a pace they’re more comfortable with in order to keep up with the national average. Our specialist tutors have experience with working with special education needs children.

What requirements are expected from your tutors?

Our tutors range from fully qualified teachers to university graduates with previous experience in schools, all with a passion for teaching. Our tutors all hold an enhanced DBS, and are specialists in the subjects they teach at Boost Education. All tutors also undergo regular training to ensure they are kept fully up to date with any national curriculum changes.

Are you Ofsted registered?

Yes we are and you are able to pay your child’s tuition fees using childcare vouchers and tax credits.

What measures do you take to ensure the health and safety of my child/children?

Every centre manager is pediatric first aid trained. As we are registered with Ofsted we must consistently meet their strict regulations of child well being and health and safety. All of our classes take place in a safe and secure environment with state of the art facilities.

What will my child need to bring to lessons?

Students will need to bring just their pencil case and the books we issue them and those studying maths and science are also recommended to bring a scientific calculator. We provide all material for our students.

What happens if my child is ill or we go on holiday?

If your child is ill or you have a planned absence, once you notify us the lesson can be rescheduled.

Will my child have the same tutor throughout?

We strongly believe in tutor consistency. Building a tutor-student relationship takes time and is a very powerful tool in the successful academic progression of your child. We will always look for your child to have the same tutor throughout the academic year.
