About Boost Education's English Tuition
Mastering effective communication from an early age sets your child on a path towards achievement. To this end, English must be understood beyond a superficial level to enable children to express themselves clearly and navigate life successfully.
Boost Education has undertaken to help learners get off on the right foot with respect to the English language with a tuition program that leaves no child behind. The results we’ve seen are a testament to the success of our program and enrollment figures show that parents trust us to help their children master this very important subject.
Tasks and Learning Approach
Lessons are designed to ensure that previous learnings are fully mastered before moving on to new material. Tutors will spend the first half of each class going through homework to see if students have fully understood topics from previous sessions. Students are also encouraged to explore the English language and ask questions about any uncertainties they may have without fear of ridicule.
Once questions have been completed, learners will spend time reviewing Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar (SPAG) . Tutors will then design creative writing tasks that require them to use the skills they have learned from reading, comprehension and SPAG. Tasks will be planned in class and set to complete for homework.
Students who aren’t fully confident in any area of the topics presented will receive a set of questions from tutors before completing the creative writing task. The creative writing task will be planned in class and be expected to be completed for homework. Boost Education follows Edexcel, AQA and OCR exam boards.

English tuition for Y1 - Y6 Learners
Y1 – Y6 include reading, comprehension as well as spelling, punctuation and grammar (SPAG). This period also covers skills such as understanding the meaning of words in different contexts, retrieving and recording information, understanding sequences of events, making inferences and predictions and self expression through creative writing.
Key Stage 1
This stage represents the first two years (Y1 & Y2) of schooling and acts as the introductory period during which children become familiarised with subjects. With respect to English, Y1 – Y2 sees learners develop and refine reading, writing, pronunciation, comprehension and listening abilities.
Materials introduced include stories, poems, plays, fiction and nonfiction. This exposure is coupled with encouragement to interpret materials presented in their individual way to assess learners’ comprehension. Children are also taught to articulate their understanding of topics through the written and spoken word.
Key Stage 2
Key Stage 2 represents Y3 – Y6 where children will be exposed to myths, poetry, novels, plays, newspaper articles, information texts, biography and autobiography. Building from Key Stage 1, children will use the fundamentals they’ve mastered to refine their understanding of the English language.
Over the course of Key Stage 2 children will be introduced to myths and legends, complex storytelling, famous authors, drama, persuasive and historical writing. Learners will also be taught how to interpret certain kinds of writing and develop independent thinking with respect to the content they are introduced to.
Further development of comprehension and articulation throughout Key Stage 2 aids children in writing clearly and concisely, while helping them to expand their vocabularies. They will also be exposed to long form content, dialogue, prose and explore English more freely as they become confident in their ability to communicate both effectively and creatively.

This is why one-on-one time with our tutors is so important.
We ensure that every learner is afforded the opportunity to express themselves and ask questions without fear of ridicule. This philosophy has proven itself year after year and we’re constantly evolving our approach to education to suit the needs of the children who come through our doors.
Here’s What the Parents Have to Say…
Boost Education has undoubtedly helped my daughter to excel at school, and improved my son's results in a very short time period. The teaching quality is excellent and the atmosphere friendly and focussed. I would recommend Boost wholeheartedly as a great value for money education centre.
I would strongly recommend parents to Join Boost. It's very child orientated and learning can be fun. My kids tutor is very friendly, patient and approachable and my kids are very comfortable with her. My younger son says he prefers going to Boost rather than School
I was interested in enrolling my daughter to the maths GCSE programme since I felt she was capable of studying this at an earlier age. The tutors and the additional resources have really helped her. The rewards scheme has also motivated both my kids and I love the structure of the programme where they are assessed every month.
